Warehouse Helper I

Alliance Refractories is currently seeking a Warehouse Helper I for our West Edmonton facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately ship and receive materials.
• Store received materials in proper locations.
• Loading and unloading trucks.
• Maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
• Sort, tag and distribute incoming shipments.
• Report quality variances.
• Ensure pallets and loads are built correctly.
• Support inventory control with accurate documentation.
• Confirm inventory transactions are complete.
• Ensure all paperwork is complete to standard.
• Perform routine inspections on forklifts.
• Maintain an organized work area according to policies, procedures and safety regulations.
• Participate in clean-up of yard and facility.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
• Operate lifting devices (i.e. forklifts, hoists, elevating platforms, lift beams and swivel hooks).

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a warehouse/shipping environment.
• Previous forklift experience and valid forklift certification required.
• High school diploma.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• Must be detail oriented and able to maintain high standards of accuracy.
• Knowledge of safe lifting and handling procedures.
• Ability to walk and/or stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to carry and move equipment and/or supplies up to 55 pounds.
• Ability to perform all duties in accordance with Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to determine the correct tools and equipment needed to complete a task.
• Able to effectively communicate, follow and understand verbal and written directions.
• Availability to work weekends and overtime is a mandatory requirement for this position.
