Overview
Jade Tours is a leading travel company providing travel services to travel agents and passengers. We are currently seeking a Full-Time Accounting Assistant to join our Head Office in Richmond Hill.
Job Responsibilities
- Process payment transactions, including wires, EFT, and cheques
- Perform month-end closing activities, such as preparing journal entries
- Perform month-end fiscal month roll-over procedures
- Analyze, investigate, and troubleshoot billing discrepancies and misapplied cash transactions
- Analyze supplier payable and customer receivable reports
- Follow up on outstanding payment with customers
- Identify and communicate discrepancies, collaborate on adjustments and corrections for missing payment approvals
- Process disbursements to travel vendors and customers
- Perform various daily and monthly account reconciliations
- Conduct a comprehensive analysis of incentive commission calculations based on respective collective agreements and administrative guidelines
- Analyze supplier statements, resolving payment discrepancies and addressing supplier inquiries
- Carry out duties such as filing hard and soft copies of reports, supporting documents, vouchers, etc.
Qualifications
- Accounting diploma or higher
- 1-3 years of experience in the field of accounting
- Ability to multi-task, handle a high volume of work, meet deadlines, and exhibit strong problem-solving skills, capable to work independently
- Excellent communication, customer service, and telephone skills
- Positive and professional attitude
- Strong working knowledge of computer applications, including Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Experience with the Travcom Accounting System is considered an asset
- Excellent writing and speaking skills in English and Cantonese
