Inventory and Receiving Clerk

Job Responsibility:

Job Summary The Inventory and Receiving Clerk reports to the Laboratory Manager and plays a key role in managing the procurement, receipt, and distribution of products within the laboratory. This entry-level position is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, ensuring proper documentation, and adhering to company standards for inventory control and organization

Duties

· Receiving and Inspection : Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials, equipment, and stock against packing slips and purchase orders to ensure accuracy and quality.

· Inventory Recording and Traceability : Accurately document received items in inventory management systems, maintaining traceability and compliance with company standards.

· Issue Resolution : Communicate with the manager and procurement team regarding discrepancies, damages, or missing items to facilitate prompt resolution.

· Storage and Organization : Properly label and store incoming materials in designated locations to optimize accessibility and inventory accuracy.

· Inventory Monitoring and Control : Track and monitor inventory levels as materials, equipment, and stock are issued, transferred within the organization, or sold to the public using manual or computerized inventory systems

· Report Compilation : Compile detailed inventory reports, recording the quantity, type, and value of materials, equipment, and stock on hand.

· Stock Replenishment : Prepare and process requisition orders to replenish materials, equipment, and stock as needed to support operational continuity.

· Stock Rotation and Disposal : Maintain proper stock rotation, ensure responsible disposal of outdated inventory, and document all adjustments accurately.

· Data Entry and System Updates : Enter and update inventory data for production scheduling, stock replenishment/relocation, and necessary adjustments.

· Inventory Reconciliation and Audits : Perform physical inventory counts, reconcile discrepancies with system records, and assist with periodic cycle counts or full inventory audits.

· Workplace Organization : Ensure the laboratory remains clean and organized by promptly disposing of empty boxes and other unnecessary items.

· Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work closely with various departments and perform additional tasks as assigned by the manager to support overall operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• College degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field;

• Proficient in using computers, including both Mac and Windows operating systems;

• Practical knowledge of French, English proficiency is an asset for international shipments;

• Physically capable of lifting up to 30 pounds (~14 kg) regularly;

• Ability to maneuver a trolley safely and efficiently;

• Strong manual dexterity to perform repetitive tasks with precision;

• Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) accurately;

• Fluent in both French and English, spoken and written.
