Community Nutritionist

Guided by our core values of Courage, Humility, Trust, Honesty, Wisdom, Respect, and Love, this position plays a vital role in promoting health, preventing chronic disease, and supporting community wellness. Reporting to the Director of Community Based Health Services, the Community Nutritionist is responsible for the development, implementation, and day-to-day delivery of community-based nutrition programs. These programs include prenatal and postnatal nutrition services, as well as chronic disease prevention and management initiatives with a focus on diabetes care and education. This role supports individuals, families, and communities by providing education, counseling, and culturally appropriate programming.

Bachelor of Science in Nutrition (or equivalent) with accredited internship.
Registration with the Saskatchewan Dietitians Association and Dietitians of Canada
Certified Diabetes Educator (preferred or willingness to take the course).
Minimum of 2 years of community nutrition or public health experience preferred.
Strong understanding of community health, prevention, and program development.
Must be able to work as an effective team member and ability to work independently and develop innovative programming.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
Willingness to travel within communities; valid Class 5 driver's license required.
Combination of office, community, and outreach work; may be asked to work flexible hours, with occasional evenings and weekends.
Previous working experience with First Nations people and demonstrate an understanding of the health & social issues encountered by First Nation people.
Willingness to learn about and accept First Nations cultures. Knowledge of Plains Cree Language is a definite asset.
Must provide a clear criminal record check with vulnerable sector.
