Food Bank Program Representative

The Food Bank Program Representative plays a key role in welcoming the public by offering emergency food hampers within a values-based and trauma-informed environment. The three main functions relating to this role are packing food hampers, entering data into the computer, and distributing food hampers. Collaborating with Food Bank Program team members, Warehouse, Reception, Director of Operations & Engagement, and other SFBLC programs as needed, the Food Bank Program Representative responds to the daily nutritional needs of the community. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring staff, volunteers, participants, and community members are treated with respect and dignity, and promotes an environment where people feel safe and welcome.
Duties and responsibilities:
TEAMWORk:
Ensure a values-based environment where staff, volunteers, participants, and community members are treated with respect and dignity.
Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning within the team.
Data Entry & Reporting:
Ensure community member data is entered accurately and efficiently.
Maintain confidentiality of community members at all times
Community Engagement:
Maintain strong relationships with all community stakeholders, donors, sponsors, volunteers, and partner organizations
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Must be able to work within a fast-paced demanding environment.
* Pushing and pulling heavy carts, ability to lift 30+ pounds.
* Ability to stand, lift, and walk for up to 2 hours at a time.
* Intermediate proficiency in English (min. CLB 5 or equivalent).
* Fluency in additional languages is an asset.
* Basic computer skills with a strong focus on accuracy in data entry and record keeping.
* Experience working/volunteering within a trauma-informed environment is a strong asset.
* Experience working/volunteering with a community-based agency is a strong asset.
