- Benefits DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Set up and operate manual lathes, boring mills, broaching machines, drill presses, milling machines, surface grinders, metal cutting saws, tapping machines, and tool grinders.
2. Read, interpret, and work from blueprints, drawings, specifications, charts, and tables.
3. Independently plan and execute the sequence of machining operations required to complete assigned projects.
4. Machine, repair, modify, and fabricate components to specified dimensions and tolerances.
5. Fit and assemble machined components and equipment to close tolerances.
6. Select, install, and maintain appropriate tooling, cutters, fixtures, and work-holding devices.
7. Verify dimensions and quality using precision measuring instruments and inspection tools.
8. Troubleshoot machining issues and make adjustments to ensure quality and efficiency.
9. Perform routine maintenance on machine tools and maintain a clean and organized work area.
10. Follow all safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices, including hazard identification and completion of field-level hazard assessments. WORKING HOURS: 8 hours/day from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM; 2 days off on weekends BENEFITS: Dental Care, Disability Insurance, Extended Health Care, Life Insurance, On-site Parking, Bonus Pay, 3 days Paid Sick Leave EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:
1. Education: Completion of secondary school is required.
2. Work Experience: Minimum 2 years experience in using conventional manual machines (not CNC)
3. Experience with heavy equipment (agriculture, construction and/or oilfield) is an asset.
4. Hydraulic cylinder repair experience is an asset.
5. Critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making
6. Excellent mathematical proficiency
7. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and safety
8. Solid written and verbal communication skills
9. Ability to stand for long periods of time
10. Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform repetitive tasks
