About Lifemark Physiotherapy Mayor Magrath
Located in Lethbridge, Alberta, Lifemark Physiotherapy Mayor Magrath is a modern rehabilitation clinic designed to support both patients and clinicians. Our facility features a large rehabilitation gym, seven private treatment rooms, and dedicated spaces for vestibular and concussion rehabilitation.
You'll work as part of an interdisciplinary team that includes Physiotherapists, a Registered Massage Therapist, Kinesiologist, and Occupational Therapist, supported by an experienced administrative team.
Our clinic provides the opportunity to work with a varied caseload that may include:
- Orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions
- Sports and recreational injuries
- Post-surgical rehabilitation
- Motor vehicle accident (MVA) injuries
- Workers' Compensation Board (WCB) clients
- Vestibular and concussion rehabilitation
- Long-term disability (LTD) programs
- General private-pay rehabilitation and wellness clients
This variety allows you to develop your clinical skills across a broad range of conditions while tailoring your practice to your professional interests and areas of expertise
Your Role
As a Physiotherapist, you will assess, diagnose, treat, and monitor patients with a range of physical conditions, injuries, and functional limitations. You will develop individualized treatment programs designed to improve physical functioning and mobility, alleviate pain, restore function, and support patients in achieving their rehabilitation goals.
Your responsibilities will include
- Assess clients' physical abilities and functional limitations through clinical assessment and evaluative procedures, including functional ability testing, and establish appropriate physiotherapy diagnoses.
- Establish individualized treatment goals in collaboration with patients based on assessment findings and physiotherapy diagnoses.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized physiotherapy treatment plans using evidence-informed therapeutic approaches and modalities.
- Provide therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, education, massage and other physiotherapy interventions within the scope of professional practice and patient needs.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of treatment plans and modify interventions based on patient progress, response to treatment, and changing clinical needs.
- Provide patients with education, therapeutic exercises, home-care programs, and strategies to maintain or improve function between appointments.
- Educate patients and, where appropriate, their families or caregivers regarding injury prevention, rehabilitation, recovery, and self-management strategies.
- Communicate with referring physicians, employers, insurers, and other healthcare professionals regarding patients' conditions, treatment needs, progress, and functional outcomes.
- Collaborate with Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Kinesiologists, Massage Therapists, Therapy Assistants, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient-centred care.
- Maintain accurate clinical, statistical, and electronic patient records in accordance with professional, organizational, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in case conferences and consult with other healthcare professionals regarding patient assessment, treatment, progress, and discharge planning.
- Develop and participate in health promotion, injury prevention, rehabilitation, and education initiatives for patients, staff, and the community as required.
- Provide education and consulting services to patients, healthcare professionals, employers, insurers, and community partners as required.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and maintain current knowledge of evidence-informed physiotherapy practices.
- Participate in clinical education, mentorship, and knowledge-sharing activities as appropriate to experience and professional expertise.
- Maintain professional standards, ethical practice, and compliance with all applicable Alberta regulatory requirements.
What We're Looking For
The successful candidate will be a compassionate and clinically skilled Physiotherapist who is committed to patient-centred care and enjoys working in a collaborative interdisciplinary environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited educational institution, or an equivalent credential recognized for registration in Alberta.
- Completion of the required physiotherapy competency examination(s), where applicable.
- Eligibility for or current registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta.
- Ability to obtain and maintain registration and authorization to practise as a Physiotherapist in Alberta.
- Professional liability insurance as required by the applicable regulatory body and/or employer.
- Strong clinical assessment, treatment planning, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English with patients, families, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders.
- Commitment to evidence-informed practice, professional ethics, and patient-centred care.
Preferred Qualifications And Experience
- 1–2 years or more of experience in an outpatient rehabilitation or physiotherapy clinic is preferred.
- Experience working with orthopedic, musculoskeletal, post-surgical, sports, MVA, WCB, LTD, vestibular, concussion, or other rehabilitation populations is an asset.
- Experience working within an interdisciplinary healthcare team is an asset.
- Additional training or certification in areas such as vestibular rehabilitation, concussion management, manual therapy, IMS/Dry Needling, pelvic health, or other specialized areas of physiotherapy is an asset.
- Experience providing clinical mentorship, education, or supporting students and colleagues is an asset.
