Senior Controls Automation Specialist

Job Responsibility:

Overview:We are seeking an experienced Controls Automation Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automation systems and a passion for innovation.

Duties:

• Ability to understand and apply high-end PLC commands
• Design and implement PLC-based control systems for industrial equipment
• Perform control system design, development of process requirements, and develop software from functional specifications
• Perform system integration, software test planning, testing, and commissioning
• Design and develop MES/HMI/SCADA projects
• Create IO lists, specify parts, and research solutions
• Assist in designing electrical schematics
• Develop overall control strategy for automation processes
• Use experience and industry best practices to design control systems
• Assist electrical designers with PLC panel design
• Panel troubleshooting and QA/QC
• Configure and commission industrial networks
• Communicate effectively with management, co-workers and customers, the status of current projects, concerns, and possible solutions
• Understand and interpret drawings, manuals and specifications, using the appropriate software to write necessary programs
• Provide training and support to customers
• Participate in field commissioning and equipment troubleshooting
• Other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned

Qualifications:

• College Diploma or University Degree in Engineering
• 4-8 years of experience as a Controls Specialist
• 4-8 years of hands-on experience in developing PLC code, HMI and SCADA (optional)
• Experience in commissioning and equipment troubleshooting

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Rockwell Automation Platform is preferred
• Experience in with a few of the following: PLC experience in Rockwell: RS Logix 5/500/ 5000, Studio 5000, Siemens STEP7 or TIA, Omron CX
• If you have experience with Schneider PLC or Wonderare, it is a great asset!

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00-$100,000.00 per year

• DCS / DEC (preferred)
