Furnishings and Equipment Project Team Lead

Job Responsibility: Your Opportunity: Reporting to the Manager of the Furnishings & Equipment Planning department, the successful applicant will become part of a fast moving F&E planning team responsible for the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital and other major capital projects, as well as 30 to 50 minor capital IMP functional projects. Description: Reporting to the Manager, Equipment Planning, the Project Team Lead (PTL) utilizes a Project Management approach to administer and oversee the Furnishings & Equipment (F&E) aspects of one or more capital & minor projects and/or initiatives as assigned. The PTL has primary responsibility to ensure all assigned and team project deliverables, timelines, commitments, milestones and other end to end planning activities are met. The PTL will also provide direction to all assigned equipment planning project team staff, necessary to meet project objectives. In addition to managing projects personally assigned to them, the PTL also ensures all team activities comply with current department processes, AHS policies/guidelines. The PTL and team members must also monitor and maintain project timelines, develop and maintain detailed equipment lists, technical documentation, procurement strategies, installation & deployment schedules maintain F&E budgets as well as other project activities. The PTL is also responsible to maintain complete and transparent communications to the Alberta Infrastructure (AI) and AHS Project teams as well as assigned equipment planning team members and department management. The PTL is responsible to provide timely reporting including but not limited to quarterly project financial reports, project status reports, team status updates, steering committee meeting updates and ad hoc reports as required. Maintenance of documentation including department project folders on share drive, AI standing reports and updates on Share Point, etc. is also required.

Required Qualifications: A minimum of a degree or diploma in nursing, clinical / biomedical engineering, biomedical technology, respiratory technology, other associated health technologies, or a mixture of applicable education & experience. A minimum of 5 to 10 years related clinical, technical, project management or general management experience is required. Understanding of Clinical & Medical terminology. Understanding of clinical practice and patient care within a healthcare environment. Ability to read and interpret contract drawings and specifications. Strong computing, communication and writing skills. Experience with managing staffing resources in a project environment as well as experience with engaging construction project teams is essential. Knowledge and understanding of construction practices specific to health facility construction. Strong technical knowledge associated with clinical, diagnostic, imaging and IT equipment would be an asset. This position requires a vehicle for business use. Possession of a valid driver's license and access to a motor vehicle in good repair for work-related travel is required. Additional Required Qualifications: A strong positive attitude, excellent communication skills and a desire to lead by example are essential to success in this position. Preferred Qualifications: A solid project management background and a formal PMP designation is a definite asset. This position is required to travel to healthcare projects throughout the province. Safety training is required to access construction sites, as well as approved personal protective equipment (PPE).
