Bodwell High School ( established since 1991, is a Grade 8-12 (IB, AP) independent boarding school in North Vancouver located at a waterfront park overlooking the Burrard Inlet. It serves students from Canada and 80% international students from 40 other countries with an enrolment of 450 - 500 students and a highly diverse team of approximately 150 employees. ABOUT THE JOB
Do you get excited about working alongside a dynamic team of educators, media professionals, and international recruiters? Are you experienced in international marketing and sales? Are you comfortable making overseas business trips?
Reporting to the School Principal and the Assistant Director of Student Recruitment, you represent the school in student admissions and contribute to the international branding of Bodwell. You work closely with the recruitment team and the school leadership, maintain contacts with our international agent partners, answer admission inquiries from overseas, greet visiting inquirers, and make business trips. You will leverage your understanding of prospective families to create, source, and manage media content to bolster the school's outreach efforts.
The role will require strong ability to persuade, the ability to empathize with parents planning to send children to study abroad, and the understanding that there is a business side of education. Experience in sales, marketing, business strategies, and public speaking is most helpful.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Markets: Southeast Asia, Latin America, and others
- Onsite Mon-Fri, except when traveling
- Market research and strategizing
- Answer inquiries and give advice, mostly by email with an aim to successfully admit new students.
- Greet visiting inquirers, give tours around the school, explain what Bodwell offers, and provide referrals where necessary to a school administrator or student counsellor for further discussion.
- Build and maintain agent-partner networks.
- Help develop promotional materials.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS AND DESIRED CAPABILITIES
- Some years of experience in sales & marketing, and customer service
- Previous experience in international student recruitment an asset
- Bachelor's degree - preferably in Sales & Marketing or Communications
- Some team leadership experience
- Some international work / life experience
- English as a major language with a second language a plus
- Empathy and ability to understand customer mindsets
- Skills in social media and graphic design a plus
