The Opportunity

The Department of Justice is seeking an experienced and collaborative leader to fill a Term/Temporary Assignment as Manager of Correctional Services – Programs at the Whitehorse Correctional Centre.

Reporting to the Deputy Superintendent of Programs, the Manager provides leadership and oversight for correctional programming, case management, inmate employment, cultural services, education initiatives, and rehabilitative interventions that support positive outcomes for inmates.

This position supervises a multidisciplinary team and works closely with operational staff, First Nations partners, community agencies, educational institutions, Elders, contractors, and external facilitators to ensure the effective delivery of programs and services within a secure correctional environment.

The Manager plays a key role in balancing institutional operations with rehabilitation, ensuring programs remain responsive to operational needs while supporting offender accountability, skill development, reintegration, and wellness.

Essential Qualifications

Please submit your resume clearly demonstrating how you meet each of the following qualifications. Please note, selection for further consideration will be based solely on the information you provide in your resume.

• Post-secondary education in Corrections, Criminology, Justice, Social Work, Human Services, Education, or a related field.
• Experience supervising staff and leading teams.
• Experience working within corrections, rehabilitation, community justice, social services, or a related environment.
• Experience coordinating programs, projects, contracts, or service delivery initiatives.
• Experience building collaborative relationships with stakeholders and community partners.

An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
