Site description: Kingston Health Sciences Centre is southeastern Ontario’s complex, acute and specialty care, research and teaching hospital. Consisting of our Hotel Dieu site and Kingston General site, as well as the Cancer Centre of Southeastern Ontario and our research institute, we care for more than 650,000 patients and their families from across our region.

Position: Medical Specimen Courier - Full Time

Site: Kingston General Hospital

Hours: Days Continental Shifts, 08:00-20:00 Week 1: Mon, Tue, Fri Sat 0800-2000 Week 2: Sun, Wed and Thur 0800-2000

Payrate: $18.43/hour

Overtime Method: Ontario Averaging Agreement (AA) After 88 hours

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform drop-offs/pick-ups between Kingston Health Science Centre Sites
• Documentation on courier runs; details report writing/note taking
• Use of 2-way radio communication and cellphone technology
• Deliver time sensitive items between hospitals
• Pick up and drop off scheduled runs
• Respond to Stat deliveries
• Provide above-average customer service to all contacts
• Responsible for reporting required vehicle maintenance/care for actioning
• Other duties as required

Job Requirements:

• Valid driver's license - Class G (or equivalent)
• Clean driver's abstract from last 3 years
• Must be 25 years in age or older
• Ability to lift up to 50LBS
• Ability to walk extended periods of time
• Proficient in English (both oral and written) communication
• A copy of your immunization records (Measles, Mumps, Rubella [MMR], Varicella, Pertussis and TB Skin Tests - Step 1 & 2) 
• • Steps to get your immunization records:
  • Immunization Form: KHSC Immunization Forms
• Proof of COVID-19 double vaccination
• Able to be clean shaven to pass an N95 Mask Fit Test
• Authorized to legally work in Canada
