Account Manager - Geospatial - Ottawa Region

Eastern and Northern Ontario  

Position Summary  

Cansel Group is a leading provider of geospatial and construction solutions, delivering advanced technology, software, and services that empower customers to capture, manage, and leverage data to drive better business outcomes.  

In this role, you will...  

• Be based within the Ottawa, Kingston, Brockville, and surrounding Eastern Ontario region, with a preference for candidates located within the Ottawa-Kingston corridor. The territory covers Eastern and Northern Ontario, including Ottawa, Kingston, Brockville, North Bay, Sudbury, and Timmins. Regular travel throughout the territory is required.  

• Be following trends in the industry market and discovering leads.  

• Perform sales presentations, on-site demonstrations, and cold calling throughout your territory.  

• Maintain existing customer/volume base through regular customer contact, monitoring, and development.  

• Provide excellent customer service to key accounts.  

• Meet all sales target performance indicators.  

• Participate in trade shows, training events, or other related events as requested and required.  

• Provide reports to the Sales Manager on activity and new pipelines.  

About you...  

• Imperative that you have sales experience as a surveyor or in Survey, the Engineering (AEC), and/or IT industry .  

• Strong hunter mentality with a proven ability to generate new business, develop net-new accounts, prospect within assigned territories, and close deals.  

• Highly motivated, results-driven, and comfortable working in a new business development environment.  

• Ability to identify, pursue, and convert net-new opportunities.  

• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.  

• An energetic, self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit and passion for selling in a competitive market.  

• Experience recommending, presenting, and selling a number of products based on customer needs.  

• Initiative, self-motivation, flexibility, drive, and superb communication and computer skills are essential.  

• Willingness to spend 40-60% of time on the road, including periodic overnight travel, servicing and visiting customers throughout Eastern and Northern Ontario, including travel to North Bay, Sudbury, Timmins, and other regional markets as required.  

• Creative problem-solving skills and business savvy.  

• Driving license in good standing.  

Bonus points  

• Post-secondary degree/diploma in a relevant field (Construction/Survey/Civil Engineering and Geomatics/Information Technology) or equivalent, or a combination of experience and training.  

• Extensive experience in an outside sales role, preferably in the AEC and IT Industries.  

• Familiarity with Salesforce or other CRMs.
