Bilingual Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Bilingual Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist based in Canada. This role focuses on helping eligible Canadian Armed Forces members successfully return to meaningful employment following periods of disability. You will develop individualized, goal-oriented vocational rehabilitation strategies in collaboration with clients, healthcare professionals, policyholders, and care providers. The position combines case management, rehabilitation planning, stakeholder coordination, budget management, and return-to-work program implementation. You will manage a regional caseload covering Ottawa-Gatineau and surrounding areas while occasionally supporting other regions. The role requires strong communication skills, sound judgment, creativity, and the ability to manage competing priorities. It is primarily home-based, with regional travel required and opportunities to work in a flexible and inclusive environment. Accountabilities: - Develop, implement, and monitor innovative, goal-oriented vocational rehabilitation strategies for members receiving disability benefits. - Build customized return-to-work plans in collaboration with clients, colleagues, healthcare professionals, policyholders, and other care providers. - Coordinate rehabilitation activities and services to support smooth, timely, and sustainable returns to employment. - Work with policyholders and other stakeholders to develop creative and practical return-to-work solutions tailored to individual circumstances. - Manage an assigned rehabilitation caseload across the Ottawa-Gatineau region and surrounding areas, with potential responsibility for additional geographic areas. - Manage rehabilitation-related budgets and ensure resources are used effectively and appropriately. - Communicate clearly with members, policyholders, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders, including when presenting complex or sensitive information. - Coordinate and manage external vendors and service providers to ensure appropriate, effective, and efficient rehabilitation treatments and services.

- Participate in mediation and negotiation sessions when required to help align the interests of clients, care providers, policyholders, and other parties. - Balance multiple cases, deadlines, stakeholder needs, and competing priorities while maintaining a high standard of service and documentation. Requirements: - University degree in a relevant discipline, with preference for Health Sciences , particularly Psychology, Counseling, Nursing, or related fields. - At least 5 years of vocational rehabilitation experience , or several years of active rehabilitation experience. - Professional designation such as Accredited Rehabilitation Professional (ARP) and/or Canadian Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CCRC) is an asset. - Strong knowledge of rehabilitation industry standards, disability insurance, medical terminology, and disability and rehabilitation management best practices. - Fully bilingual in French and English , with the ability to support clients across different jurisdictions. - Professional experience managing budgets. - Valid driver's license and access to a car, as regional travel is required. - Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite . - Comfortable delivering presentations to large groups in both virtual and in-person settings. - Strong ability to develop creative solutions to complex rehabilitation challenges. - Excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiation, mediation, and organizational skills. - Ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, adapt to changing demands, and manage tight deadlines. - Genuine interest in helping individuals achieve sustainable and meaningful returns to employment. - Prior military experience is considered a strong asset.
