Specialist in Application Architecture and BI, Expert

The client is modernizing an on-premises enterprise solution and needs the architect who will lead the migration of data, processing and application components to an Azure Databricks platform. The role is hands-on: current and target state analysis, data models, POCs, code reviews, developer coaching and effort estimation. The profile must meet two distinct layers: the framework agreement profile 3-4 requirements, focused on application architecture (SOA, commercial software integration, implementation strategies, executive documents), and the mandate-specific requirements, focused on modern analytics architecture and big data. A data architect without documented application work fails the first layer; an application architect without Lakehouse or Spark fails the second. Level 2 security clearance from the ministère de la Sécurité publique and Quebec-only remote work narrow the pool further.

Target candidate: an application architect with 15+ years in IT, including at least 7 in architecture, who has led at least two large-scale cloud migrations and designed a Lakehouse architecture on Databricks and Spark from a SQL Server, SSIS or .NET legacy. They document, mandate by mandate, their system architecture, SOA and commercial software integration roles, and bring hands-on graph database and IaC experience.

Key Requirements:

• Modern analytics architecture design (Data Lake, Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, Medallion)

• Processing and analysis of very large data volumes (Big data)

• Mastery of Spark and distributed processing

• Mastery of pragmatic migration patterns

• Rapid proofs of concept (POC)

• Hybrid solutions (cloud and on-premises)

• At least 2 large-scale data or application cloud migration mandates

• Knowledge of Databricks, Python and .NET

• Graph database design and operation (complex relationship analysis)

• Cloud deployment and configuration automation through Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

• Professional skills: teamwork, autonomy, rigour, leadership, mobilization, tolerance for ambiguity and stress

Requirements
