Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Primary Care Nurse Practitioner to join our NP‑led clinic in Medicine Hat. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive patient care across diverse settings, including pediatrics, senior care, and chronic disease management.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments, including history taking and physical examinations for patients of all ages.
• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions across diverse patient populations.
• Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with state regulations and clinical guidelines.
• Develop individualized care plans and coordinate case management for complex patients.
• Utilize electronic health records (Accuro) to document patient encounters accurately and efficiently.
• Educate patients and families on health conditions, medication use, and preventive care strategies.
• Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations and standards to ensure patient safety and quality of care.

Experience

• Proven experience working with children (pediatrics), seniors (senior care), or in nursing home environments is desirable.
• Background in hospital or acute care settings will be a plus.
• Prior exposure to medical terminology, medication administration, laboratory procedures, and case management is essential.

Qualifications

• Valid Nurse Practitioner license with current certification.
• Approved into the Alberta NPPCP Program. Assistance with the application is available.
