Family Physician

Nat’s Pharmacy (Nat's Remedy's Walk-In Clinic) is looking for a full-time Family Physician to join our team in Medicine Hat, Alberta .

Responsibilities

• Examine patients and take their histories, order laboratory tests, X-rays and other diagnostic procedures and consult with other medical practitioners to evaluate patients' physical and mental health.
• Prescribe and administer medications and treatments.
• Provide emergency care.
• Provide acute care management.
• Vaccinate patients to prevent and treat diseases.
• Advise patients and their families on health care, including health promotion, disease, illness and accident prevention.
• Provide counselling and support to patients and their families on a wide range of health and lifestyle issues.
• Perform patient advocacy role.
• Coordinate or manage primary patient care.
• Provide continuous care to patients.
• Report births, deaths, and contagious and other diseases to governmental authorities.

Qualifications

• Must be a registered member of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.
• Must be issued a valid practice permit.
• Recent (within the last 12 months) experience as a general family physician.
• Completion of University Credentials (certificates, licenses, memberships, etc.).
• Health Insurance Provider Identification Number (Practice ID).
• Exceptional communication, analytical, and leadership skills.
• A passion for patient care and the patient experience.
• Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment.

Schedule

• 32 to 40 hours per week.
