Working closely with the Director of Customs Brokerage, you will manage a team of compliance professionals, ensuring that all tasks are completed accurately and in a timely manner. You will also act as the primary point of contact for complex customer inquiries regarding customs rules, Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) requirements, and various trade agreements. Responsibilities
• Lead, motivate, and manage the Compliance team members to successfully achieve departmental goals
• Oversee all daily functions of the staff to ensure work is completed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with international and federal regulatory laws
• Handle human resources duties for the team, including recruitment, hiring, onboarding, development, performance evaluation, and disciplinary actions or terminations in accordance with company guidelines
• Distribute and monitor staff workloads efficiently, making necessary adjustments to maintain productivity
• Resolve customer issues promptly and ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction
• Develop and manage commodity databases for new and existing clients
• Ensure strict compliance with Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) and Other Government Department (OGD) requirements
• Oversee the preparation and processing of refunds, amends, and drawbacks
• Stay current on customs requirements, CITT opportunities, and changes in import/export regulations
• Deliver presentations and training sessions to both internal staff and external customers
• Communicate proactively with customers regarding any updates, tariff classification changes, or regulations that will impact their business operations
• Respond to queries from internal and external customers concerning customs rules and regulations
• Assist in developing new consulting opportunities by utilizing current databases to identify potential areas for growth
• Accurately update ITMR4 for all relevant customs requirements
• Assist clients with CBSA Compliance Verifications and any post-entry requirements
• Review Free Trade certificates for completeness and assist in qualifying goods for customers
• Assist the CPC Operations Manager with various customs-related tasks as required

Qualifications
• Exceptional team leadership and teambuilding abilities, with a proven track record of motivating staff
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written) to effectively interact with colleagues, customers, vendors, and government agencies
• Excellent customer service and customer management skills
• Advanced research and analytical skills with high attention to detail
• Ability to exercise sound judgment and make critical decisions to solve complex problems
• Exceptional time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet hard deadlines
• Well-organized, self-motivated, and capable of operating autonomously
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with a strong emphasis on Excel
• Solid understanding of common HR principles and performance management practices
• Ability to manage stress related to hard deadlines and the active management of subordinates

• Minimum of 5 years of previous management experience, demonstrating strong leadership in a business administration or operational setting
• University degree or college diploma in customs brokerage, logistics, business, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Active Customs Certified Specialist (CCS) designation is required
• In-depth knowledge of and familiarity with related regulatory laws, including OGD requirements and Customs valuation
• Expertise in GST/HST application, temporary import regulations, tariff classification, origin, and marking
• Comprehensive understanding of CBSA regulations and compliance mandates
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and available to work on-site in the Windsor, ON office
• Flexibility to work long or extended hours occasionally as business needs and hard deadlines require
