Senior Wildfire Management Leader

Manage wildfire initiatives as a Wildfire Superintendent in Thompson, MB. This full-time role is dedicated to directing complex programs and fostering effective team collaboration. As part of the Manitoba Government, the Wildfire Superintendent's responsibility includes developing operational policies and providing oversight for wildfire readiness. This senior management role requires strong experience in land-based program delivery, supervisory capabilities, and financial governance. Collaborate closely with the Executive Director and regional teams to optimize program outcomes. Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee development and evaluation of wildfire management policies
- Manage operations in the Northern Fire Region
- Conduct financial management for operational budgets
- Support collaboration with various stakeholders
- Lead teams in wildfire suppression and emergency responses
- Post-secondary education in natural sciences or equivalent
- Experience in wildfire management and related programming
- Supervisory experience and performance management skills
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Valid Manitoba Class 5 Driver’s licence and travel willingness
