Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Edmonton Metropolitan Area for Concrete Labourers and Finishers with an immediate start. Day-to-day tasks include assisting with concrete formwork setup and removal, placing and leveling ready-mix concrete, and performing flatwork and finishing to specified grades and textures. Responsibilities also include site preparation, basic carpentry related to forms, operating or assisting with heavy equipment as directed, and maintaining a clean, safe work area. Team members will follow site safety procedures, use personal protective equipment, and support supervisors and lead hands in completing daily work plans on time and to quality standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience or strong interest in concrete work, including formwork and flatwork.
- Ability to work with ready-mix concrete, including placing, screeding, and finishing to required specifications.
- Basic carpentry skills related to building, bracing, and stripping forms.
- Experience operating or assisting with heavy equipment, or willingness to learn under supervision.
- Strong awareness of construction site safety practices and use of PPE.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, bending, standing, and working outdoors in varied weather.
- Reliable transportation to job sites within the Greater Edmonton Metropolitan Area and consistent punctuality.
- Ability to follow instructions, work as part of a diverse crew, and maintain a respectful, inclusive work environment.
- Previous concrete or construction experience is an asset; relevant certifications (e.g., WHMIS, CSTS, First Aid) are beneficial.
