Purpose of position

Responsible for developing and managing corporate and employee communications overseeing issues management acting as corporate spokesperson and managing the companys suite of brand assets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop corporate and internal communications messaging for social media recruitment marketing and other external platforms;
• Serve as manager and editor of the employee news publication The Journal;
• Manage various project-based assignments;
• Represent the Corporate Communications department on various working groups;
• Manage the suite of brand assets for Jazz Aviation LP;
• Liaise with internal departments and deliver on requests requiring design and print production;
• Oversee website content management;
• Produce departmental videos with script writing and facilitation support where required;
• Support various departments in the communication of sensitive and/or important issues;
• Lead participant in crisis communications and emergency response. Key contributor in incident response and media relations;
• Work with Air Canada Corporate Communications to ensure coordinated messaging;
• Perform duties in accordance with established policies and procedures while giving primary consideration to personal safety the safety of co-workers and customers
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required qualifications

• Post-secondary degree or diploma in Public Relations Communications or Journalism;
• Seven to ten years experience in corporate communications and media relations;
• Superior written and oral communication skills in English including strong command of grammar spelling and professional writing style;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word Excel and PowerPoint;
• Demonstrated ability in desktop publishing and basic photo editing;
• Experience with website content management systems;
• At least two years experience working in brand management
• Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment dealing with stressful situations and ability to meet deadlines.

Preferred qualifications

• A degree diploma certificate or courses in graphic design;
• Good understanding of issues facing the airline industry
• Bilingualism (English and French).
