Senior Java Software Engineer

Marqeta seeks a Senior Java Software Engineer with Spring Boot expertise for its Credit Commercial Engineering Team. Work remotely from Ontario or British Columbia.This senior role owns defined features and components across quarterly milestones. You will design software, solve moderately complex problems, and collaborate with teammates and cross-functional partners. Experience with Java, service-oriented architectures, cloud computing, Spring Boot, and scalable distributed systems supports the work.Key Responsibilities:
Design high-performance solutions for large-scale financial dataDevelop software and infrastructure for automated quality releasesDebug production issues across services and system layersUse customer input to determine technical solutionsDocument data patterns for non-technical audiencesRequirements:
Five-plus years of software development industry experienceExperience with Java, Spring Boot, and cloud computingKnowledge of scalable distributed systems and design patternsExperience with Kubernetes and/or DockerClear, respectful verbal and written communicationApply Java, Spring Boot, cloud computing, and collaborative engineering skills to Marqeta’s financial technology products.
