As a key member of the Student Success Centre, the Academic Advising Coordinator is a logical and conscientious individual who is able to develop and implement retention programming which complements existing activities undertaken by faculties and other units, builds on the research currently available, and is informed by the University of Regina's strategic plan. The incumbent maintains collaborative relationships across campus to provide a comprehensive, integrated approach to student success and retention. The position reports to the Associate Director, Student Success. What You'll Do:

• Leading the Student Success Centre academic advising team, including the supervision of two APT staff members and several student positions.
• Establishing and maintaining effective collaborative relationships with University staff members and providing leadership in student development and retention initiatives. Acting as a resource for campus constituencies and committees whose responsibilities relate to student retention.
• Facilitating one-on-one and group advising meetings with students in a high-volume office. This involves advising students on such areas as: course selection, transition to university, transferring between programs, meeting requirements for qualifying and transition programs.
• Facilitating academic advising and study skills workshops.
• Promoting the programs and services of the advising unit, and participating in student outreach.

• A degree and a minimum of five years experience working directly with students in a student support environment.
• A combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.

• Knowledge of Banner, Caspur, Degree Audit .
• Working knowledge of student development theories and strategies relating to retention of at-risk students.

Physical Demands Long periods of intense focus on computer screens and active listening/engagement with students. Pay Grade APT 5 Salary Range $69,655 to $94,007 Status Permanent Work Hours Monday to Friday; 8:15 am to 4:30 pm with some evenings and weekends required.
