Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Loans Officer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the financial industry, specifically in the area of loans and lending. The Senior Loans Officer will play a crucial role in assessing, approving, and managing loan applications, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities:
Loan Processing: Evaluate loan applications, including reviewing financial documents, credit histories, and collateral to determine the feasibility of granting loans.
Risk Assessment: Analyze and assess the creditworthiness of applicants, taking into account various risk factors, financial ratios, and market conditions.
Decision Making: Make informed decisions regarding loan approvals, denials, and terms, ensuring alignment with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, providing guidance and support throughout the loan application process and beyond.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies governing lending practices, including anti-money laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) regulations.
Documentation: Prepare and review loan documentation, contracts, and agreements, ensuring accuracy and completeness while adhering to legal requirements.
Portfolio Management: Monitor and manage an assigned loan portfolio, including tracking payments, identifying delinquencies, and implementing appropriate remedial actions when necessary.
Team Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues across various departments, including underwriting, legal, and risk management, to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
Market Research: Stay informed about market trends, industry developments, and competitor activities to make informed decisions and identify opportunities for business growth.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in loan origination, underwriting, or a similar role within the financial industry.
Strong understanding of lending principles, credit analysis, and risk management practices.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and make sound judgments.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers and colleagues at all levels.
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding targets and objectives in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in relevant software applications and financial modeling techniques.
Certification in lending is a plus.
