At Cypress Restaurant, great meals start with a great kitchen team. We’re passionate about serving beautifully presented food and creating memorable experiences for every guest.
We’re looking for dependable Part-Time Line Cooks to join us in Port Alberni, BC. Opportunities are available for both day and evening shifts. If you enjoy the energy of a busy kitchen, take pride in the food you prepare, and want to work alongside a supportive team, we’d love to hear from you.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, presentation guidelines, and quality standards.
- Keep service running smoothly by preparing accurate, consistently presented dishes in a timely manner.
- Help bring daily menu items and specials to life.
- Support other kitchen stations with food preparation as needed.
- Plate dishes with care, ensuring each order looks appetizing and meets our standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked workstation.
- Monitor ingredients and supplies and communicate restocking needs.
- Follow all food-safety, sanitation, and workplace-safety procedures.
- Work closely with kitchen and service staff to create an excellent experience for every guest.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Chef or Management team.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING:
- FoodSafe certification.
- A positive attitude and a genuine interest in preparing great food.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- The ability to remain organized and focused during busy service periods.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work.
- The ability to work confidently both independently and as part of a team.
- Availability to work Part-time day or evening/night shifts.
- The ability to safely lift and carry at least 30 lbs.
- The ability to safely use cleaning products and chemicals.
