The Durham District School Board acknowledges that many Indigenous Nations have longstanding relationships, both historic and modern, with the territories upon which our school board and schools are located. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging lessons that align with the curriculum and support student learning.
• Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback to help students grow.

• Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and the community to enhance student learning.
• Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse needs of students.

Qualifications and additional information:

• Required subject qualifications: Special Education Part 1
• FTE: 1.0
• Grade(s)/assignment: Special Education - Structured Learning Class (SLC)
• Tentative course codes (if known):
• Ontario teaching certificate (OCT) in good standing
• Secondary Permanent Salary Range: $57,986 to $119,967/year (Placement on salary grid is based on QECO rating and teaching experience. Salary will be pro-rated based on the position FTE).

1. First Consideration: Teachers covered by the OSSTF Permanent Teachers' Collective Agreement (1.0., 0.5, Article 10 teachers) who possess the required qualifications.(For clarity, an Article 10 teacher is a day school teacher at Durham Continuing Education who has signed a contract with the Board They are considered Article 10 for the school year.)
2. Second Consideration: Candidates from outside of the OSSTF permanent bargaining unit.
