Vice President of Sales and Marketing

As a member of the senior management team, you will actively participate in the development and

implementation of a strategic plan aimed at minimum double-digit growth. You will establish short- and long-

range departmental goals and objectives and evaluate the effectiveness of sales, methods, costs, and results.

Your primary deliverable is the planning and implementation of sales and marketing activities to achieve company

targets as set out in senior management’s strategic plan.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in the development of a strategic plan.

• Create and execute sales and marketing plans to achieve sales targets and expand the customer base.

• Create a compelling vision for the sales team to generate enthusiasm and help people focus their energies.

• Keep abreast of developments in the industry, in the markets and within the G&L Group of Companies.

• Forecast and analyze sales performance metrics.

• Establish relationships with new clients and manage a pipeline of prospects from initial contact to closing.

• Educate prospects and clients.

• Identify and develop new leads while tracking information.

• Beat the competition, deliver/exceed the annual plan and be the partner of choice for our customers.

• Perform all aspects of selling professionally including prospecting, approaching, presenting, handling

objections, closing, and follow-up.

• Maintain an annual sales target, relay critical feedback from prospects and clients to sales team, and drive

annual growth.

• Set sales strategies to encourage customers to buy multiple products and services from the G&L Group.

• Manage Key Accounts.

• Know the strategic and business objectives and align your team’s goals with these. Identify key performance

indicators that must be achieved and share this information with your team.

• Provide regular updates and highlights of your team’s progress. Set individual goals for each member of your

team that reflects the key performance indicators.

• Establish relationships with key decision makers and position G&L as a supplier of choice among key

customers.

• Maintain and develop a corporate image and reputation and protect and develop the company’s brands via

suitable public relation activities and intellectual property management.

• Promote the company through speaking engagements at industry conferences and involvement in local

business organizations.

Working Hours:

• Business hours are standard Monday to Friday, must be available to attend business functions.

• Expected to work hours which are reasonably necessary to complete your duties which may vary according to

the operational needs of The Company. No overtime payable for this position.

Competencies:

• Degree in Business Management or related industry, 10+ years’ experience in Sales Management, 2+ years’

experience in a senior level role with strong financial capability (understands the total P&L in depth).

• Experience working in the construction industry with a track record of building strong partnerships to deliver

business results, with excellent negotiations and influencing skills.

• Strong Sales and Commercial Strategy capabilities ideally with depth in Field Sales, Key Account Management

and Customer Management.

• An authentic and inspiring sales/business leader with a track record of leading teams and developing talent.

• Strong organizational and multi-tasking capabilities, and proficient in MS Office.
