The Chinook School Division requires a part time (.30 FTE) continuing Music Instructor at Maverick School beginning August 2 6 , 2026 . Maverick School is an alternative, student driven, academic high school (Grade 10-12) with 6 teachers.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of Maverick School;
• Providing instruction with multiple instruments: guitar, bass guitar, keyboard, and drums;
• Instructional focus is contemporary pop, rock, and rap music;
• The ability to teach from the beginner to the advanced levels;
• Knowledge of music production, beat making, songwriting, and performance would be an asset;
• Knowledge of Applied Control Theory would be considered an asset;
• Experience working in an alternative learning environment;
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills;
• Willingness and ability to work collaboratively in a team teach scenario and an ability to work in a team environment;
• A teaching philosophy that reflects a constructivist and cooperative learning approach;
• Ability to work effectively within an environment which includes developing meaningful and productive relationships with students, parents, PLC's, professionals and community service agencies;
• Demonstrated ability to connect with youth in a student-centered learning environment in addition to having an interest or willingness to connect with students outside of the classroom;
• Certified as a Teacher in good standing in Saskatchewan or the ability to be certified is a requirement.
