Senior Director, Market Access and Government Affairs Canada

The Senior Director of Market Access & Government Affairs Canada will play a critical leadership role in shaping that transformation.

This position goes beyond traditional market access responsibilities. It requires a strategic leader capable of positioning Incyte as a credible, influential, and trusted partner across federal and provincial healthcare environments, while preparing the organization for future launches, expanded indications, and long-term growth.

The role will lead the development and execution of integrated Market Access, Government Affairs, and external policy engagement strategies across Canada. Working closely with the General Manager and the Canadian Leadership Team, the successful candidate will help shape Incyte’s reputation, strengthen institutional credibility, and ensure patients can access innovative therapies as rapidly and sustainably as possible.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Market Access Leadership

• Define and lead the Canadian market access strategy across current and future portfolio assets; 
• Anticipate evolving reimbursement, pricing, and healthcare policy dynamics across federal and provincial environments; 
• Lead negotiations and strategic interactions with public and private payers, HTA bodies, and key healthcare stakeholders; 
• Ensure strong launch readiness and long-term market sustainability across therapeutic areas; 
• Partner closely with Medical Affairs, Commercial, Regulatory, Legal, and Finance teams to align cross-functional priorities. 
• Ensure tracking and execution of all listing agreements and close collaboration with finance on contract terms and net sales reconciliation 

Government Affairs & Policy Shaping

• Establish and strengthen Incyte’s positioning within the Canadian healthcare and policy landscape; 
• Develop strategic relationships with governmental stakeholders, industry associations, policymakers, and external influencers; 
• Monitor and anticipate policy developments impacting access, pricing, innovation, and healthcare delivery; 
• Represent Incyte externally with credibility, strategic vision, and strong executive presence; 
• Contribute to shaping the affiliate’s external engagement strategy and long-term institutional visibility. 

Leadership & Organizational Impact

• Act as a key member of the Canadian Leadership Team; 
• Contribute to the evolution and maturity of the Canadian affiliate as it enters a new phase of growth and complexity; 
• Build a culture of collaboration, accountability, and strategic partnership internally and externally; 
• Provide clear strategic guidance to senior leadership regarding access opportunities, risks, and healthcare trends inside and outside of Canada; 
• Support the development, structure and design of a high-performing and forward-looking access and affiliate organization. 

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a senior leader who combines strategic market access expertise with strong external influence capabilities and the ability to operate within a fast-evolving biotech environment.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

• Significant experience within Market Access, Government Affairs, Pricing, or Healthcare Policy in the Canadian pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry; 
• Strong understanding of the Canadian reimbursement and healthcare policy environment across federal and provincial levels; 
• Proven ability to influence complex stakeholder environments and build long-term institutional relationships; 
• Experience supporting product launches and growth within innovative or highly competitive therapeutic areas; 
• Strong business acumen with the ability to balance strategic vision and operational execution; 
• Executive presence, communication skills, and leadership maturity; 
• Agility, resilience, and comfort operating within a growing and evolving organization; 
• A collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally across local and international teams. 
• Experience within oncology, immunology (dermatology), rare diseases, or specialty care environments is considered a requirement.

Dans ce contexte, nous recherchons un(e) Directeur(trice) principal(e), Accès au marché et Affaires gouvernementales, qui jouera un rôle central dans la définition et la mise en œuvre de la stratégie canadienne de l'entreprise.

Relevant du Directeur général Canada et membre de l'équipe de direction, la personne retenue contribuera activement au développement de la filiale en assurant le positionnement d'Incyte auprès des décideurs du système de santé, des organismes publics et des principaux acteurs de l'environnement pharmaceutique canadien.

Ce rôle représente une occasion unique d'exercer une influence stratégique sur l'accès aux traitements innovants tout en participant à la construction de la prochaine étape du développement d'Incyte au Canada.

 

Principales responsabilités

Accès au marché

• Élaborer et mettre en œuvre la stratégie canadienne d'accès au marché pour les produits commercialisés et le portefeuille en développement.
• Anticiper les évolutions de l'environnement canadien en matière de remboursement, de tarification et de politiques de santé.
• Piloter les interactions stratégiques avec les régimes publics et privés, les organismes d'évaluation des technologies de la santé ainsi que les autres parties prenantes clés.
• Assurer la préparation des lancements et soutenir la pérennité de l'accès aux traitements.
• Travailler en étroite collaboration avec les équipes des Affaires médicales, des Affaires réglementaires, des Affaires commerciales, des Finances et du Juridique afin d'assurer une approche cohérente et intégrée.
• Superviser la gestion des ententes d'inscription et assurer le suivi des engagements contractuels en partenariat avec les équipes financières.

Affaires gouvernementales et relations institutionnelles

• Développer et maintenir des relations de confiance avec les principaux intervenants gouvernementaux et institutionnels.
• Contribuer au positionnement d'Incyte auprès des décideurs du système de santé canadien.
• Suivre l'évolution des politiques publiques susceptibles d'avoir un impact sur l'accès aux traitements et l'innovation en santé.
• Représenter l'entreprise auprès des associations de l'industrie, des organismes externes et des partenaires stratégiques.
• Soutenir les initiatives visant à renforcer la visibilité et la crédibilité d'Incyte au Canada.

Leadership

• Participer activement aux travaux de l'équipe de direction canadienne.
• Conseiller la direction sur les enjeux liés à l'accès au marché, aux politiques de santé et à l'environnement externe.
• Contribuer au développement d'une culture de collaboration, d'excellence et de responsabilisation.
• Soutenir la croissance de la filiale en apportant une vision stratégique et une capacité d'exécution reconnue.

 

Profil recherché

Nous recherchons un leader reconnu pour sa capacité à naviguer dans des environnements complexes et à créer des partenariats durables avec les principales parties prenantes du système de santé.

• Une expérience significative en accès au marché, affaires gouvernementales, politiques de santé ou tarification au sein de l'industrie biopharmaceutique canadienne.
• Une excellente connaissance des mécanismes de remboursement et des processus décisionnels aux niveaux provincial et fédéral.
• Une expérience démontrée de collaboration avec les organismes payeurs, les décideurs publics et les associations sectorielles.
• Une solide compréhension des enjeux commerciaux liés au lancement et au développement de médicaments innovants.
• Une capacité reconnue à influencer et à mobiliser des parties prenantes variées.
• Un excellent jugement d'affaires et une forte crédibilité auprès des équipes de direction.
• Un leadership mobilisateur, favorisant la collaboration et le travail transversal.
• Une expérience en oncologie, en immunologie, dans les maladies rares ou dans d'autres aires thérapeutiques spécialisées.
