Senior Director, Sales and Marketing IAI

A global biopharmaceutical company on a mission to Solve On, Incyte follows science to find solutions for patients with unmet medical needs. Through the discovery, development, and commercialization of proprietary therapeutics, Incyte has established a portfolio of first-in-class medicines for patients and a strong pipeline of products in Hematology, Oncology and Inflammation and Autoimmunity Headquartered in Wilmington, Delaware, Incyte has operations in North America, Europe, and Asia.

 

Summary

 

Responsible for establishing, driving, and executing the strategic direction of the IAI Sales and Marketing at the country level, across key market brands. Accountable for building the operational structure, leading product launches, and defining and executing business plans including distribution, patient support program, medical, value & access, and commercial goals. Ensures delivery of annual financial targets and drives cross‑functional collaboration in alignment with regional and global strategies. Builds and maintains a strong organizational culture and team environment while coaching and leading talent development within the Dermatology team.

 

Duties & Responsibilities – Thematic Organization


1. Strategic Leadership & Market Direction
• Define a clear direction for the country, aligning local execution with the broader corporate vision including digital transformation and enterprise priorities, balancing long-term ambitions with short-term market dynamics.
• Lead, develop, and implement market entry and go-to-market strategies for portfolio launches, ensuring timely and on-budget execution.
• Influence stakeholders, build market readiness, create awareness, and maintain a continuous feedback loop between market shaping and access to sustain growth.
• Confidently make irreversible decisions with accountability, balancing calculated risk-taking with strategic foresight in a fast-moving environment.

 

2. Commercial & Financial Performance 
• Drive commercial activities to meet annual revenue and strategic targets, including brand and team spend and ensuring overall business performance.
• Enable early sales opportunities post-authorization within compliance, medical, and legal frameworks.
• Develop annual country brand plans and accurate product forecasts.

 

3. Market Access, Reimbursement & External Stakeholder Management
• Work cross-functionally to define and execute commercialization and reimbursement strategies in collaboration with Value, Access & Pricing teams.
• Develop compliant relationships with patient advocacy groups and understand funding, clinical, and access decision processes to identify key VAP stakeholders.

 

4. Marketing Excellence & Customer Strategy
• Lead segmentation, targeting, and customer strategy to optimize field deployment in complex multi-stakeholder environments.
• Lead development of educational programs, promotional activities, and sales materials in collaboration with agencies.
• Ensure strong presence at national and international congresses with appropriately targeted customer engagement strategies.
• Lead planning and support PSP teams design and operations of a customized support and distribution model by product/ molecule

 

5. Medical & Scientific Alignment
• Support medical teams in executing country medical plans and scientific engagement.
• Ensure alignment between scientific strategy and commercial market strategy.

 

6. Organizational Leadership & Talent Development
• Build and develop a high-performing team with capabilities required for successful product launches.
• Foster a strong organizational culture and team environment.
• Lead with vision, influence, and authenticity; mobilize teams and partners through strong communication skills.
• Build strong cross-functional collaboration across functions and geographies.

 

7. Governance, Compliance & Business Integrity
• Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal guidelines.
• Drive a culture of business integrity and ethics.
• Apply a digital and analytical mindset to stay ahead of market and stakeholder evolution.
• Collaborate with regional counterparts to share learnings, best practices and seek help while actively contributing to leadership teams/ work streams.

 

Requirements


• Degree in Life Sciences or a related field, or equivalent professional qualification.
• Over 10 years of experience in promoting specialist pharmaceutical products, preferably within immunology, dermatology, or related areas.
• Proven success in specialist sales, product management, and sales leadership.
• Experience in market access is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate across functions and act as an effective team player.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
• Comprehensive understanding of compliance requirements.
• Entrepreneurial, self-driven, and proactive approach.
• Advanced IT skills with demonstrated ability to adopt and utilize digital tools.
• English fluency required, and ability to operate in French a strong asset.
• Extensive experience in Business Unit P&L management, including responsibility for budgeting and forecasting.
• Successful track record of product launches, including pre-launch market shaping activities.
• Strong background in financial planning and resource allocation within commercial organizations.
• Experience in leading and developing first-line managers as well as cross-functional teams.
• Proven ability to operate effectively in matrixed and multi-stakeholder environments.
• Expertise in leveraging data analytics and digital tools to optimize commercial performance.

Résumé

Responsable de définir, piloter et exécuter l’orientation stratégique des ventes et du marketing IAI au niveau du pays, sur les principales marques du marché. Responsable de la mise en place de la structure opérationnelle, de la conduite des lancements de produits et de la définition et de l’exécution des plans d’affaires, incluant la distribution, le programme de soutien aux patients, le médical, la valeur et l’accès, ainsi que les objectifs commerciaux. Veille à l’atteinte des objectifs financiers annuels et stimule la collaboration transversale en alignement avec les stratégies régionales et mondiales. Construit et entretient une forte culture organisationnelle et un environnement d’équipe, tout en accompagnant et en développant les talents au sein de l’équipe Dermatologie.

Tâches et responsabilités – organisation thématique

1. Leadership stratégique et orientation du marché

  • Définir une orientation claire pour le pays, en alignant l’exécution locale avec la vision globale de l’entreprise, y compris la transformation digitale et les priorités d’entreprise, en conciliant ambitions à long terme et dynamiques de marché à court terme.
  • Diriger, développer et mettre en œuvre les stratégies d’entrée sur le marché et de mise sur le marché pour les lancements du portefeuille, en assurant une exécution dans les délais et le budget.
  • Influencer les parties prenantes, préparer le marché, créer la notoriété et maintenir une boucle de rétroaction continue entre la structuration du marché et l’accès afin de soutenir la croissance.
  • Prendre avec assurance des décisions irréversibles et en assumer la responsabilité, en équilibrant une prise de risque mesurée et la prospective stratégique dans un environnement en évolution rapide.

2. Performance commerciale et financière

  • Piloter les activités commerciales afin d’atteindre les objectifs annuels de chiffre d’affaires et les objectifs stratégiques, y compris les dépenses de marque et d’équipe, et assurer la performance globale de l’activité.
  • Permettre des opportunités de ventes précoces après autorisation, dans le respect des cadres de conformité, médicaux et juridiques.
  • Élaborer les plans de marque annuels au niveau pays et des prévisions produits précises.

3. Accès au marché, remboursement et gestion des parties prenantes externes

  • Travailler de manière transversale pour définir et exécuter les stratégies de commercialisation et de remboursement, en collaboration avec les équipes Valeur, Accès et Prix.
  • Développer des relations conformes avec les associations de patients et comprendre les processus de décision relatifs au financement, au clinique et à l’accès afin d’identifier les principales parties prenantes VAP.

4. Excellence marketing et stratégie client

  • Diriger la segmentation, le ciblage et la stratégie client afin d’optimiser le déploiement terrain dans des environnements complexes et multi-parties prenantes.
  • Piloter le développement de programmes éducatifs, d’activités promotionnelles et de supports de vente en collaboration avec des agences.
  • Assurer une forte présence lors des congrès nationaux et internationaux, avec des stratégies d’engagement clients ciblées et appropriées.
  • Diriger la planification et soutenir les équipes PSP dans la conception et le fonctionnement d’un modèle de soutien et de distribution personnalisé par produit/molécule.

5. Alignement médical et scientifique

  • Soutenir les équipes médicales dans l’exécution des plans médicaux pays et l’engagement scientifique.
  • Assurer l’alignement entre la stratégie scientifique et la stratégie commerciale de marché.

6. Leadership organisationnel et développement des talents

  • Constituer et développer une équipe performante disposant des compétences nécessaires à la réussite des lancements de produits.
  • Favoriser une culture organisationnelle forte et un environnement d’équipe.
  • Diriger avec vision, influence et authenticité; mobiliser les équipes et partenaires grâce à de solides compétences en communication.
  • Renforcer une collaboration transversale forte entre fonctions et zones géographiques.

7. Gouvernance, conformité et intégrité des affaires

  • Assurer la conformité avec les exigences légales, réglementaires et les directives internes.
  • Promouvoir une culture d’intégrité des affaires et d’éthique.
  • Adopter un état d’esprit digital et analytique afin d’anticiper l’évolution du marché et des parties prenantes.
  • Collaborer avec les homologues régionaux pour partager les apprentissages et les meilleures pratiques, demander du soutien au besoin, tout en contribuant activement aux équipes de leadership et aux groupes de travail.

Exigences

  • Diplôme en sciences de la vie ou domaine connexe, ou qualification professionnelle équivalente.
  • Plus de 10 ans d’expérience dans la promotion de produits pharmaceutiques spécialisés, de préférence en immunologie, dermatologie ou domaines connexes.
  • Succès démontré en vente spécialisée, gestion de produit et leadership commercial.
  • Une expérience en accès au marché est fortement souhaitée.
  • Capacité démontrée à collaborer entre fonctions et à agir comme un(e) coéquipier(ère) efficace.
  • Excellentes compétences en communication et en présentation.
  • Compréhension approfondie des exigences de conformité.
  • Esprit entrepreneurial, autonome et proactif.
  • Compétences informatiques avancées, avec capacité démontrée à adopter et utiliser des outils digitaux.
  • Anglais courant requis; la capacité à travailler en français est un atout majeur.
  • Expérience significative en gestion de P&L de Business Unit, incluant la responsabilité de la budgétisation et des prévisions.
  • Historique de réussites en lancements de produits, incluant des activités de structuration du marché en amont du lancement.
  • Solide expérience en planification financière et allocation de ressources au sein d’organisations commerciales.
  • Expérience dans l’encadrement et le développement de managers de premier niveau ainsi que d’équipes transversales.
  • Capacité avérée à opérer efficacement dans des environnements matriciels et multi-parties prenantes.
  • Expertise dans l’exploitation des analyses de données et des outils digitaux afin d’optimiser la performance commerciale.
