Volunteer Website Designer

Job Responsibility:

Job Summary We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Web Designer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting the lead designer for our website in designing, maintaining, and optimizing websites to enhance user experience and drive engagement. This role requires a strong understanding of web design principles, as well as proficiency in various design tools and technologies. The Web Designer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to create visually appealing and functional websites that align with our brand identity. As the second website designer you will be trained by the current lead of website design and work together with the social committe.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop user-friendly websites that meet community member specifications and enhance user experience.
• Perform regular website maintenance, ensuring all content is up-to-date and functional.
• Manage email marketing campaigns by designing engaging templates that align with brand guidelines.
• Analyze website performance and make recommendations for improvements.
• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure our web presence remains competitive.

Skills

• Proficiency in website maintenance and development using HTML, CSS, PHP, and Bootstrap.
• Strong knowledge of SEO principles to optimize web content for search engines.
• Experience with email marketing platforms.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on delivering high-quality work.

Our Story

Advocate Connections is a not-for-profit corporation founded in 2022 to provide advocacy and

direct assistance for homeless and marginalized groups.

After years of volunteering in the social sector, we saw firsthand how overwhelmed shelters and hubs struggle to meet a growing need for essential services. Many people fall through the cracks, unable to access medical care, financial aid, or stable housing.

That's why we created Advocate Connections—to bridge those gaps, offer guidance, and make sure everyone has the resources they need to move forward.
