Use backend engineering and distributed systems skills at Workday’s AI Platform. Flexible work combines office or customer time with remote scheduling.As a Software Development Engineer, you will build production systems supporting AI agents and enterprise-scale software. Your work spans backend services, APIs, orchestration, observability, and developer tooling for the Software Development Life Cycle. You will help AI teams develop, test, deploy, and operate reliable workflows.Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement backend services, systems, and toolingBuild internal APIs that improve developer experienceContribute to observability, logging, tracing, and debugging systemsCollaborate with engineering, product, and AI teamsParticipate in architecture and technical decision discussionsRequirements:
Three or more years of backend software development experienceStrong understanding of APIs and asynchronous processingExperience with service-oriented architecture and distributed systemsExperience designing for reliability, scalability, and maintainabilityExperience with platforms, infrastructure, or developer toolingApply backend, API, orchestration, and observability expertise to Workday’s AI infrastructure development platform.
