Architect AI-powered restaurant intelligence systems as a Senior Backend Engineer, using Node.Js, TypeScript, distributed systems, and scalable data pipelines remotely from Canada.This Senior / Staff Backend Engineer owns Grader’s architecture and technical direction. You will build customer-facing services, event-driven workflows, and data systems processing information from Google, Yelp, restaurant menus, and AI-generated signals. Your work supports real-time scoring and product capabilities.Key Responsibilities:
Own Grader’s backend architecture and technical directionBuild scalable pipelines for third-party restaurant informationOperate reliable services powering real-time restaurant scoringLead monolith decomposition and microservices transitionsImprove observability, monitoring, alerting, and incident managementRequirements:
Seven-plus years in backend, platform, or software developmentStrong Node.Js and TypeScript proficiency or equivalentExperience scaling customer-facing production systemsKnowledge of distributed systems and asynchronous processingExperience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar databasesBring architectural ownership, backend engineering expertise, and reliability focus to Grader’s AI-powered restaurant intelligence platform.
