Site Superintendent - Mid -Rise Condo

Our client  a multi-faceted, diversified real estate company comprised of two fundamental ventures — the development of new real estate across Ontario in the low, mid and high-rise sectors and the acquisition of multi-family rental properties throughout North America. This developer is one of Canada's fastest growing companies and have won multiple awards for outstanding executive leadership. With an incredible pipeline of new development, our client is adding a Site Superintendent to their growing team. 

Job Description:

The Site Superintendent duties will include but are not limited to:  

• Prepares overall work plan and schedule in conjunction with Project Manager
  


• Reviews and provides assistance regarding quality assurance and control
  


• Monitors all site instructions and change notices and any/all revisions as required
  


• Organize and execute project start-up
  


• Maintain and enforce good construction standards and quality control
  


• Ability to correctly identify problems, evaluate alternative causes and produce workable solutions
  


• Maintain progress on site as per project schedule – assist Project Manager in identifying required adjustments throughout the project
  


• Inform the Project Manager of any errors, discrepancies or omissions identified on drawings, scope of works, etc.
  


• Organize and deliver daily jobsite meetings
  


• Inspect all machinery and equipment
  


• Coordinate scheduling of trades and ordering of materials as per construction schedule
  


• Manage labour force and assign tasks as required; record accurate hours, job codes, attendance issues on weekly time sheets
  


• Notify inspectors/consultants to ensure proper documentation, required inspections for all aspects of construction and occupancies is completed.
  


• Maintain a safe job site and ensure that the requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Health & Safety program are enforced
  


• Ensure required safety meetings are delivered and all required jobsite safety inspections are completed

Requirements

The successful candidate will have the following:  

• At least 5 - 10 years of experience in high rise construction with at least 2 cycles completed 

• A degree/diploma or other relevant certifications in a construction related field  

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skill
