The Role

We are recruiting an experienced Mechanical Project Manager for our Midstream division. The candidate will plan, coordinate, execute, and deliver mechanical construction projects safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for oversight of mechanical and piping construction projects, including pressure systems, fabrication support, and review of mechanical drawings, isometrics, and P&IDs.
• Manage contractual planning, procurement, design activities, contract costs, schedule adherence, and client liaison.
• Purchase: supervise preparation of all material and subcontract requisitions; review vendor quotations; approve purchase orders; follow up on orders for schedule compliance.
• Planning: supervise budget and schedule preparation; supervise work order preparation; procure long‑lead items; incorporate technical requirements into product build strategy.
• Project/Contract Activities: supervise schedule and material status reporting; maintain consolidated project reports; maintain contact with client representatives; estimate and construct change orders and notifications; lead direct and indirect reports, ensuring mentoring, training, performance management, and discipline.
• Document Control: enforce health, safety, environmental standards on site; identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies; supervise all document control activities, including customer/client and internal documentation.

Education & Skills & Qualifications

• 7+ years progressive experience in industrial mechanical, piping, and pressure systems.
• Knowledge of quality management systems, codes, and standards such as ASME B31.3 and B31.5.
• Engineering degree considered an asset.
• CET designation considered an asset.
• PMP certification considered an asset.
• P.Eng designation considered an asset.
• Experience in production scheduling and labour budget preparation.
• Highly effective customer service mindset.
• Strong conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
• Strong knowledge of computer software: Gmail/Google Drive, Microsoft Office, Primavera, and Bluebeam.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure and within tight deadlines.
• Valid driver’s licence and a clean driving abstract.
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
• Must reside in the Edmonton area.
• Must be able to pass a pre‑employment drug and alcohol test.
• Must be willing to work a project schedule as needed and be willing to work onsite to fit project needs.
• LOA / Camp / Travel for out‑of‑town work.
• H2S and First Aid required for onsite work (or as required by client).
