Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Metal Fabricator with strong hands-on experience working with heavy metal and structural steel . The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating, fitting, welding, and assembling heavy metal components according to drawings, measurements, and specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and fabrication plans.
• Measure, mark, cut, drill, fit, and fabricate heavy metal components.
• Work with structural steel, plate, angle iron, channel, beams, and other heavy-gauge materials.
• Perform MIG and/or stick welding on heavy metal components.
• Operate fabrication equipment including saws, grinders, drills, plasma/oxy-fuel cutting equipment, and other shop machinery.
• Set up and position materials using clamps, fixtures, hoists, and lifting equipment.
• Perform grinding, finishing, and preparation of fabricated components.
• Inspect completed work to ensure proper dimensions, fit, alignment, and quality.
• Follow all workplace health and safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Metal Fabricator , preferably in a heavy fabrication environment.
• Strong experience working with heavy-gauge steel and structural metal.
• Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and blueprints.
• Strong knowledge of measurements, layouts, and fabrication techniques.
• Experience with MIG, Stick, or Flux-Core welding is an asset.
• Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and fabrication machinery.
• Comfortable working with heavy materials and performing physically demanding tasks.
• Good attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
