Test Engineer- Co-op

The world relies on HPS to continually conceive and produce state-of-the-art transformer technology. We currently have an opening for a Test Engineer - Co-op,  come grow with us!

The test Engineer-Co-op will support R&D activities through hands-on testing and validation of electrical and power-electronic systems. The role involves executing test plans to verify functionality, performance, and reliability, identifying bugs, and supporting continuous product improvement. The successful candidate will document test procedures and results, assist in troubleshooting electrical issues, and help maintain and select appropriate laboratory test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and power analyzers. The successful candidate will join us for the Spring/Summer 2026 co-op term starting in May 2026.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Implementation: Run R&D tests to find bugs and verify functionality, performance, and reliability 


• Documentation: Create and maintain test documentation and reports


• Troubleshooting & Improvements: Diagnose electrical issues, propose design modifications and suggest improvements for products and processes


• Equipment Management: Maintain and select appropriate test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, power analyzers)

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Currently enrolled as a student pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering

  Basic understanding of electrical and electronic circuits



• 
  

  Ability to follow test procedures and execute R&D test plans



• 
  

  Fundamental knowledge of AC/DC measurements (voltage, current, power)



• 
  

  Hands-on aptitude with lab work and hardware testing



• 
  

  Strong attention to detail and data accuracy



• 
  

  Ability to document results clearly in technical reports



• 
  

  Basic troubleshooting skills and logical problem-solving



• 
  

  Good communication skills for working with engineers and technicians



• 
  

  Basic scripting or data handling experience using MATLAB, Python, or Excel



• 
  

  Ability to process test data and generate plots or summaries
