ISO Responsibilities

  • Maintain and control the QMS documentation — policies, procedures, work instructions, forms, records
  • Manage document control: versioning, approval, distribution, and obsolescence
  • Plan and coordinate internal audits; train and schedule internal auditors
  • Track findings and drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to closure
  • Prepare for and support external audits (ISO 9001 / AS9100 / IATF 16949 / ISO 13485) — surveillance, recertification, customer audits
  • Coordinate management review meetings and maintain required records
  • Log and investigate non-conformances; run 8D / root-cause analysis with production and engineering
  • Track quality objectives and KPIs — scrap, rework, on-time delivery, supplier performance — and report trends

  • Keep training records current and ensure staff meet QMS requirements
  • Support risk assessments, FMEAs, and continual improvement projects
  • Act as primary internal contact for the certification body and quality-related customer requests

  • Resolve invoice, receiving, and pricing discrepancies with accounting and suppliers
  • Maintain purchasing records for audit trail and traceability — mill certificates, CoCs, material certs
  • Identify cost-reduction and dual-sourcing opportunities, including domestic Canadian supply where lead time or tariffs favour it

Requirements

  • 3+ years of combined experience in quality systems coordination and/or purchasing in a Canadian manufacturing environment
  • Hands-on experience maintaining an ISO management system and supporting audits
  • Strong grasp of document control, CAPA, and non-conformance processes

  • Able to balance competing quality and supply chain priorities
