What will your typical day look like?

 

The Software Asset Management (SAM) Analyst will report directly to the Deloitte Technology Software Asset Manager. This individual will support the maintenance of accurate software license compliance positions across Deloitte’s global technology estate for key software vendors such as Microsoft and Salesforce. The role analyzes license entitlement, consumption and usage data to identify license compliance exposure and cost optimization opportunities. The SAM Analyst will be a key support contact between Deloitte Technology, member firms, and the vendors in areas related to software license management, compliance and optimization.

 

Responsibilities include:

 

• Develops and maintains effective license positions for key software vendors by reconciling license entitlements, contractual rights, consumption and usage data to identify compliance risk and optimization opportunities.
• Maintains license compliance reporting, providing data-driven insights, actionable recommendations and best practice guidance to leadership, member firms and business stakeholders.
• Investigates discrepancies across license entitlement, consumption and usage data and works with data owners to resolve identified gaps.
• Tracks identified compliance risks through remediation and validates that corrective actions have been completed.
• Identifies license reclamation, reassignment and right-sizing opportunities and tracks realized cost avoidance and optimization benefits.
• Identifies and recommends opportunities for process improvements and makes constructive suggestions for change.
• Designs and maintains SAM dashboards and reports that provide visibility into compliance exposure, remediation progress, and optimization benefits.
• Creates and maintains knowledge articles covering software licensing information, vendor agreements and SAM best practices.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Do you possess the following?:

 

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience producing effective license positions or software compliance reconciliations.
• Understanding of software entitlement, consumption and data reconciliation.
• Ability to interpret licensing terms, product use rights and common licensing metrics.
• Working knowledge of vendor maintenance programs, cloud services and subscription-based licensing models is desirable
• Strong analytical skills, including working with large datasets and presenting actionable findings.
• Self-starter with above average time management/organizational skills including appropriate sense of urgency and proactive approach.
• Ability to work independently and manage ambiguity.
• Knowledge of Software Asset Management (SAM) tools including ServiceNow SAM Pro, Flexera, and Snow Software is desirable. 

Total Rewards

The salary range for this position is $47,000 - $78,000, and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program.
