SCOPE OFPOSITION : Responsible for general laundry duties asassigned. These may include the sorting, loading, and folding of laundry anddelivering to units. Maintains a regular cleaning schedule of laundry area
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum completion of Grade Twelve (12) required
- Knowledge and ability to operate and use institutional laundryequipment
- Must demonstrate good written and oral communication skills
- Ability to attend work on a regular and consistent basis
- Must be comfortable working around seniors
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the processing of all linens and personal laundryitems includes collecting, sorting, and folding etc.
- Responsible to use industrial washers and dryers according toguidelines
- Maintains laundry stocks and delivers lines to the neighbourhoods
- Responsible for the routine cleaning of all laundry equipment
- Replenishes supplies
- Reports defective equipment or linens to the Facility SupportManager
- Is familiar with facility Policies and Procedures, Fire and Safety,and Emergency procedures and carries out guidelines of same
- Attends staff education sessions as required
- Performs other related duties as required

Salary Range:
In accordance withcurrent collective agreement between Ocean View Continuing Care Centre and C.U.P.E.Local 1245.
Rotation:
Combination of all shift types. Position requires weekend work. Schedule may change as necessary to ensurecoverage.
