Research Scientist for Innovative Smart Projects
The University of British Columbia
Drive innovation as a Research Scientist at UBC's Smart Structures, focusing on smart construction and advanced AI solutions. This role combines research leadership with real-world applications. You will join the UBC Smart Structures team, coordinating research under the supervision of Prof. T.Y. Yang. By leading projects related to AI-enabled construction and structural health monitoring, you'll ensure alignment with cutting-edge technological advancements. Engaging with students and research assistants will be a key aspect of your role. Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate multiple smart construction research initiatives
- Design advanced data acquisition and sensing systems
- Develop AI solutions for energy monitoring
- Integrate technologies for effective experimental research
- Mentor graduate students and postdoctoral researchers
- Undergraduate degree in Engineering or Applied Science
- Minimum one year of related experience in research
- Ability to respect diverse perspectives within the team
- Commitment to understanding equity, diversity, and inclusion
- Advanced degrees preferred in relevant fields
