Senior Construction Accountant
to join the team behind some of the most exciting high-rise residential developments transforming the Greater Toronto Area. Working across a portfolio of active condominium and purpose-built rental projects, this role offers a unique opportunity to gain direct visibility into the financial engine that drives large-scale construction from the ground up.More than a traditional accounting role, this position places you at the intersection of finance, operations, and development. You'll work closely with Project Managers, construction teams, and senior leadership, providing critical financial oversight and insights that help keep $100 million+ projects moving forward. From tracking costs and managing complex invoicing to supporting monthly lender draws and monitoring project performance, your work will have a direct impact on the successful delivery of landmark communities.As part of CentreCourt’s growing development pipeline, you'll gain exposure to projects at every stage of the construction lifecycle, offering a rare opportunity to deepen your understanding of high-rise development while building expertise in one of the most dynamic sectors of real estate.Reporting to the Senior Manager, Construction Accounting & Finance, the Senior Construction Accountant will play a key role in maintaining financial accuracy, supporting project execution, and driving strong cost-control practices across multiple active developments.This role is ideal for a highly organized and detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys collaborating across teams, and wants to be closely connected to the real-world progress of major construction projects – not just the numbers behind them.Key Responsibilities
Partner with Project Managers and site teams to validate costs, approvals, and supporting documentationReview and process construction invoices, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal controlsMonitor project budgets through change orders, cost transfers, settlements, and ongoing cost trackingSupport Project Funding & Progress Draws
Coordinate monthly progress draw submissions and supporting documentationCollaborate with project teams, consultants, and lenders to facilitate timely funding and approvalsParticipate in progress draw and cheque release meetings to support project cash flow and executionSupport month-end reporting, reconciliations, and financial analysis for active construction projectsAnalyze project costs, trends, and variances to support forecasting and decision-makingMaintain budget tracking tools and project databases to provide real-time visibility into project performanceAssist with cost audits, project closeouts, and the organization of key project documentationImprove Processes & Build Better Tools
Develop and enhance Excel-based models, reports, and tracking tools to improve efficiency and accuracy;
experiment with and leverage AISupport the implementation of accounting procedures, document controls, and best practices across project sitesPartner with construction and accounting teams to streamline workflows related to tendering, contracting, invoicing, and cost managementCandidate Qualifications
University degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related fieldExperience in construction accounting, project accounting, or a similar environmentCPA designation or working towards completion is considered an assetAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel;
strong working knowledge of Microsoft OfficeStrong attention to detail with the ability to manage high volumes of data accuratelyExcellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyStrong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across construction and accounting teamsSelf-starter with the ability to work independently in a lean, fast-paced environmentAbout CentreCourt
