Production Inventory Supervisor

Job Responsibility:

NextStar Energy (NSE) is an innovative joint venture company between LG and Stellantis. It will be Canada's first large-scale lithium-ion battery production plant when it begins production at the Twin Oaks site in Windsor, Ontario. The manufacturing facility will have an annual targeted production capacity in excess of 49 gigawatt hours and will create an estimated 2,500 new jobs in Windsor and the surrounding areas.

The Production Inventory Supervisor works closely with various departments, including procurement, operations, and logistics, to forecast the needs and schedule deliveries or production materials, thereby ensuring zero production downtime and optimizing efficiency. During the launch phase, you will lead the warehouse layout development and set-up and develop the inventory management process focusing on non-raw material production materials. During the operation phase, you will be responsible for managing a team of 8 or more hourly across multiple shifts to support production requirements. This role is essential in ensuring that the right materials are available at the right time and in the correct quantities to meet production demands. Responsibilities:

• During the launch phase:
  • Using material lists and estimated usages provided, work with purchasing for initial order of production materials.
  • Develop layout and set up consumables storage room which will include identifying necessary racking needs- and storage needs. Co-ordinate with necessary groups for procurement and installation.
  • Working with production teams, determine material delivery routes and line-side set-up
  • Organize and label all storage areas.

During Operations:

• Maintain detailed inventory records and usage forecasts for production materials.
• Conduct regular audits to ensure data accuracy and compliance.
• Monitor stock levels and movements to prevent shortages and reduce waste.
• Manage purchase orders to ensure timely material replenishment.

Leading People:

• Foster a culture supporting NextStar Energy's mission, vision and values.
• Create a safe environment for issues/mistakes to be identified and communicated to ensure the product and customer are protected at all times.
• Promote a coaching culture, monitoring / mentoring and developing the team to exceed departmental goals.
• Lead and manage all health and safety aspects for your area and team ensuring a safe work environment.
• Comply with Health & Safety and Environmental Policies, maintaining compliance with ISO and IATF standards.
• Participate in recruitment and selection processes for your team.
• Ensure department training requirements are fulfilled, growing our team's skill set.
• Complete annual appraisals and give regular positive and constructive feedback as necessary.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree
• Excellent organization, written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interface with various levels of employees within all areas of the Plant internally from team members to Senior Leadership as required.
• Ability to build effective business relationships with plant leadership and downstream customers.
• Ability to handle and lead multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficient with Windows, Microsoft including Excel and Powerpoint.
• Must be able to work in low humidity environments from 1% - 35%.
• Must be able to wear clean room PPE: coveralls, latex/nitrile gloves, surgical mask, hair/beard net, coveralls, bump cap.
• Must be able to work all shifts and on a 7-day rotational schedule.

Preferred Requirements:

• A bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Professional certifications such as Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) desired.
• Proficiency in database management and/or relevant enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
• 5 years' experience in materials management or a related field.
