Our client is a well-established commercial contractor specializing in retail tenant improvement projects across British Columbia. As a result, they are seeking an experienced Foreman to join their team and support an expanding portfolio of grocery store and retail renovation projects throughout the region.
This opportunity is well suited to a hands-on construction professional who enjoys leading from the front, coordinating trades, and delivering quality projects in fast-paced, operational environments.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Project Manager and Superintendent, the Foreman will lead day-to-day site operations on grocery store tenant improvement projects, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard. Working closely with subcontractors and trades, you will be responsible for coordinating site activities, maintaining project schedules, and supporting the successful delivery of projects from mobilization through completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily site operations on grocery store tenant improvement projects across British Columbia.
- Coordinate subcontractors, trades, suppliers, and site activities.
- Perform hands-on carpentry and construction work as required.
- Support the Superintendent and Project Manager with scheduling, planning, and project coordination.
- Review drawings and specifications to ensure quality project execution.
- Enforce health and safety standards and maintain a safe working environment.
- Complete daily site reports and provide regular progress updates.
- Coordinate material deliveries, site logistics, and trade sequencing.
- Identify and resolve site issues to maintain project schedules.
- Deliver projects to high standards of quality and expertise.
Qualifications
- Experience in commercial, retail, or tenant improvement construction.
- Grocery store, retail fit-out, or occupied-space renovation experience is considered a strong asset.
- Hands-on construction background with the ability to perform carpentry work when required.
- Strong leadership skills with experience coordinating multiple trades and subcontractors.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong understanding of site safety, quality control, and scheduling.
- Experience completing daily reports and site documentation.
- Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel throughout British Columbia.
