From Industry Expert to Instructor - Help Train the Next Generation of Skilled Trades Workers
Are you an experienced Sheet Metal Worker looking for a new challenge; one that keeps you connected to the trade you love, while offering more balance, stability, and long-term security?
At Nova Scotia Community College, you can take the knowledge and experience you've built in industry and use it to mentor the next generation of skilled trades professionals, all while enjoying predictable hours, excellent benefits, and a career that's easier on the body.
Why Make the Move to Teaching?
This is an opportunity to stay hands-on in the trade without the physical demands, long shifts, emergency callouts, or unpredictable schedules that often come with industry work.
As a Faculty member with NSCC, you'll enjoy:
- The opportunity to share your industry expertise and help shape the next generation of skilled trades professionals
- Meaningful work that makes a lasting impact on students, industry, and communities
- A supportive team environment focused on collaboration, mentorship, and continuous learning
- The ability to stay connected to your trade while transitioning into teaching
- Predictable work hours that support work-life balance
- A stable and rewarding career in education with opportunities for professional growth
- Support and training to help transition successfully into teaching
Whether you're looking to slow down physically, spend more time with family, take your trade experience in a new direction, or transition into a rewarding second phase of your career, this role offers the chance to do all of that while remaining deeply connected to the trades community.
