We are recruiting for the 2025 season ( May through October ). Camp, Hotel or Airbnb accommodations will be provided unless you prefer to secure your own private accommodation for the season. LOA based on accommodations.

Position Summary:

Reporting directly to the Project Manager, the Surveyor is responsible for assisting in the planning and performance of construction projects. The Surveyor assists the Project Engineer and Project Manager and Site Superintendent by providing layout and accuracy checks on sewer, water and road building construction work in the field.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform onsite surveys of project sites, providing analysis and calculations as required before and during construction projects


• Collaborate with Project Engineer and Project Manager in the develop of project plans and layouts


• Maintain accurate survey records and documentation


• Complete additional assignments and responsibilities as requested by Project Manager or Senior Management

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience as a construction surveyor (sewer & water / roadbuilding experience a distinct asset)


• Comprehensive knowledge of surveying equipment and instruments.


• Detail oriented with the ability to read and comprehend construction plans and keep redline on a project


• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions


• Valid Class 5 Drivers License with reliable transportation


• Completion of a post-secondary education program in Civil Engineering, Survey Engineering or other applicable technical certification


• Proficient in both written and verbal English, with the ability to undertake moderately complex technical correspondence and conversations, as well as to provide clear information to project team members


• Adept at multi-tasking and prioritizing in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, working well under pressure and meeting deadlines


• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, as well as attention to detail


• Effective time management and organizational skills
