Quality Receiving Specialist

Quality Receiving Specialist play a vital role in ensuring that products supplied to TG Minto are within acceptable quality standards. Regular contact with suppliers is required. Duties and Responsibilities:

• Be the main supplier contact point for QPR’s, PPM negotiation, debits and credits.


• Investigate issues in process and at the customer as they relate to supplied parts.


• Contact supplier regarding any non-conformances and issue a QPR notice.


• Track all QPR to ensure on time response and evaluate for effectiveness.


• Coordinate, manage and support all supplier related sorts in the plant. Report results to the appropriate people as necessary.


• Disposition, coordinate the return of product physically and in the JDE system and manage inventory through transfers to rejected, qc hold and approval of RMFUS’s.


• Update all spreadsheets and tracking information.


• Attend all supplier meetings at TG Minto as well as audit suppliers for counter measure effectiveness.


• Review and approve colour for supplied paints and resins.


• Track, and issue PPM as well as supplier reports to TGNA and all suppliers


• At pre-production time, create SQIS/SQIR and RMSV, download drawings, review packaging of supplied components, distribute SQAM to new suppliers and collect contact information, set up files for new product.


• Assist with ECI’s / PCR’s by managing new level components until released to production.


• Prepare WI as they relate to Receiving Inspection.


• Sort at the customer when required. (TB)


• Use tools and equipment required to perform inspection and ensure that the tools and equipment are calibrated and operating correctly.


• Interpret drawings.


• Work in a safe manner and maintain 5S.


• Other Duties as assigned by Supervisor /Manager

Education or Experience
• Incumbent should be enrolled in the Quality Assurance Program.
• Minimum of Grade 12 is required.
• Experience in a similar roll would be beneficial.
• Should be computer literate (MS Excel, Word, Access, Outlook).
• Training in Quality Related courses or program would be beneficial.

Language Skills
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situation to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
• Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Other Skills and Abilities
• Strong interpersonal skills/analytical skills required to quickly respond to customer complaints.
• Must be proficient in Excel and Access computer software.
• Able to travel to suppliers in Mexico, Canada , USA if required.

Straight Shift Timing on  Morning Shift (8:00 AM-4:30 PM) but may be required to change shifts in order to accommodate production requirements.
