Urologist- Locum Opportunity

Position Summary

Community-based urologist is required to provide a high-quality efficient service with access to elective and emergency operating room, cystoscopy and ambulatory clinic resources at Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital (OSMH). Regional call is in collaboration with the Urologists from Georgian Bay General Hospital and Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare.

Primary Responsibilities

In-Patient

• Consultation to other credentialed staff.
• Post-operative management.
• Participation and cooperation as a contributing team member.

Out-Patient

• Provision of out-patient consultations.
• Provision of ambulatory urology.

Remuneration

• Fee-for-service OHIP billings.
• HOCC (Hospital On Call Coverage) stipend.

Qualifications

• FRCSC certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Urology.
• Licensure or eligibility to practice in the province of Ontario (CPSO).
• Membership in the Canadian Medical Protective Association in good standing.
• Proficiency in laparoscopic surgery and familiarity with management of genitourinary cancers preferred; a fellowship in these areas would be an asset; applicants must demonstrate experience working with teams and possess strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.
• Applicant must be eligible for appointment to the Credentialed Staff at Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital.
