Key Information Job Title: Project Manager – Civil Engineering Location: On-site (South Shore/Montérégie) and Remote Work Job Type: Permanent - Full-Time Salary: Based on Experience A well-established Quebec company in the construction and infrastructure field is looking to add a civil project manager to its team to take charge of projects in the South Shore/Montérégie sector. Here, the role is not just about following up behind a screen. You are involved in what is actually happening on the site: you work with foremen, coordinate subcontractors, make decisions when work needs to be adjusted, and keep a close eye on contracts, costs, and profitability. In short, you see your projects progress and can directly measure the impact of your decisions. The position truly combines site operations, contract management, and profitability control. Responsibilities — deliver the site, protect contracts, track profitability Take charge of the startup and execution of your projects. Oversee the progress of work and participate in site meetings. Work closely with foremen and support them when issues arise on the ground. Plan labor, equipment, material, and work method needs. Negotiate and award certain subcontracting contracts. Manage purchase orders related to project needs. React to unforeseen events and adjust execution when the reality of the site changes. Evaluate and negotiate modifications, additions, and extra work. Track costs and financial commitments. Produce and monitor monthly profitability reports. Desired Profile — essential requirements and expected leadership style A DEC in building techniques, a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or construction management, or a relevant combination of training and experience. About 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role in construction. A good understanding of how a civil engineering site operates. Experience in managing subcontractors, contracts, changes, costs, and schedules. A real ease in working with field teams and being present regularly on sites. A good command of Word, Excel, and Outlook.
