Job Description
In partnership with other members of the medical staff, the hospitalist will provide care for designated hospital in-patients. They may be most responsible physician (MRP) for these patients or involved in concurrent care along with one of the specialists. The hospitalists will work with the multidisciplinary team to provide care and services at Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital (OSMH) in accordance with accepted and evolving standards of clinical practice. They will utilize excellent diagnostic and therapeutic skills for the assessment and management of a wide range of medical conditions.

- May 25 - June 1 (1.0 or 0.5 line)
- June 1-8 (1.0 or 0.5 line)
- June 22-29 (1.0 or 0.5 line)
- June 29 - July 6 (1.0 or 0.5 line)
- July 6-13 (1.0 or 0.5 line)
- July 20-27 (1.0 or 0.5 line)
- July 27 - August 3 (1.0 or 0.5 line)
- August 3-10 (0.5 line)
- August 10-17 (1.0 or 0.5 line)
- August 17-24 (0.5 line)
- August 24-31 (1.0 or 0.5 line)
- August 31 - Sept 8 (0.5 line)
Remuneration
- Full Line $5,800 stipend + FFS (census goal 25 patients)
- Half Line $2,900 stipend + FFS (census goal 13 patients)
- Some weeks qualify for up to $150/day accommodation reimbursement
Details
- 1 week blocks
- Overnight call 11pm-7am (1-2 nights of call per week of duty)
- EMR‑ Cerner (Powerchart)
- 2 NP's with MRP status
- All admissions completed by Emergency Physicians
Specialist Support
- General Surgery, closed ICU, Schedule 1 Facility for Psychiatry, Internal Medicine (Nephro, Resp, Gastro, Geriatrics, Cardiac Care Clinic), level 2c obstetrical center with level 2 nursery.
- Lab, MRI, Ultrasound, X‑Ray, CT, Nuclear, and IR.
Requirements
- Open to Family Medicine and Internal Medicine physicians.
- College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) unrestricted license that allows the physician to fulfill the requirements of this position.
- ACLS preferred.
